Jean Thomas, 67, of Magazine passed away December 30, 2017. She was born November 16, 1950 in Booneville, the daughter of John and Hazel (Turley) Swafford. Jean was a homemaker, raised cattle and was a member of the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association. Jean loved her cattle and for thirty years, enjoyed planting a garden with June Roberts. She attended Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Hazel Swafford; three sisters, Catherine Pollard, Wanda Patton and Mildred Cabe; and two brothers, Bobby Swafford and Bill Swafford.
Survivors include her husband, of forty-six years, Melvin Thomas; two sisters, Ruth Tatum of Washington and Shirly Paris of Florida; and one brother, Harold Swafford of Indiana.
Pallbearers will be Joe Roberts, Jessie Roberts, Jessie Jones, Johnny Spelling, Dalton Haller and Bill Young. Honorary Pallbearers will be June Roberts, Raymond Littleton, Bill Pendergraft and Marty Cotton.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Booneville Funeral Service Chapel in Booneville.
Funeral Service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Booneville Funeral Service Chapel with burial in Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
